I'm not surprised at the fall up to now. However, this is just a bit much. I really don't understand what the heck investors think right now.
It's been a long time since we've had a bear market, but I know that in a bear, good news is bad news and bad news is terrible.
Based on ORCL's initial analyst reaction last night, I was convinced that we were in a bear, because they ripped stellar performance. However, it seems today that all is right with ORCL.
Given CPQ's increased exposure in the same enterprise space and ORCL's strong forward looking statements, then the whole CPQ sell off is vastly overdone.

Andreas MAY be right that most buybacks are never implemented. I don't think he's really correct about that....but that's a matter I haven't researched. I do know that buybacks are often hidden costs. The only way to be sure they occur is by checking the shares outstanding.

Who knows if CPQ institutes the buyback? They'd get a steal right now, though....thing is, the buyback is only 6% of outstanding stock at this price, and would represent a price increase to only roughly 19 or 20, unless it spurred a larger buy from ordinary investors.
