"now the time to pull together, not the time to keep picking at an open wound"

You know, I said the same thing to the republicans almost exactly eight years ago. But for some reason the message didn't take.

"I mean what are you trying to accomplish?"

All I am trying to accomplish is to have a message board, reasonably free of personal attacks, to document and share information about Dubious George's doomed presidency.

"not the time to keep picking at an open wound."

Reap what you sew. After each of Bill Clinton's elections, radical right fanatics like Delay and Lott picked at everything -- mostly inventing 'Whitewater' lies --at our President, even bringing the nation twice to the brink of a government shut-down. Clinton is not only a legitimate president, he is smart and capable.

Bush, by contrast, is stupid and incompetent. Since he enters the White House without a shred of legitimacy, you'll just have to get accustomed to determined criticisms, lengthy investigations, howls of outrage, obduracy, criminal indictments, and eventually jail when the Republicans get caught, as they always do, with their hand in the till.

As for what critics "are ... trying to accomplish" - take a guess. You have until 2004 to figure it out.
