I am in favor of removing troops from the Balkans (not precipitously, of course). I am also in favor of SDI. I consider threats of a renewed arms race ludicrous, and do not see that either Russia or China is in much of a position to object. We are not now supposed to be targeting each other, anyway. It was only destabilizing (ostensibly) under the MAD theory. I am against a Comprehensive Test Ban treaty. It is unenforceable.

We have given China a lot of leeway, but we cannot remain indifferent to their political future. The situation is delicate, and has to be handled with care, but it has to be addressed. In the Middle East, peace will come only when security issues are solved, if ever.

Anyway, not a bad read, thanks....

All these terrible issues facing Bush existed before the election - thanks to the Clinton Gore mismanagement but the press couldn't be bothered to mention them while their boy was busy running for President. No that he is history these issues suddenly get reported all over the place. None of this is any surprise to those of us who voted for Bush. At least there is a chance some of it can be reversed.
