i won't trade more than 200 or 400 of an expensive stock like brcm, i have before and paid the price. schwab capital markets will fill maybe 100 shares of a market order on auto execute (whatever the bid is when you hit sell) but then your order is placed in a line behind all others, in a fast market the remaining 900 shares will likely get filled at the bottom of that current selling flurry, sometimes 3-4 points lower. it's amazing we make any money at all with all the obstacles we have to overcome.
