It is a peculiarity of our educational system that tony colleges are more likely to be ideologically fatuous. I can only guess that that is because they were more subject to what Tom Wolfe calls "The Colonial Complex", where they were overly impressed with all things European. Even now, a lot of these lummoxes think that citing what they do or think in Europe is a trump card. In other words, it was the social aping of their "betters".......
