I have noticed that many type of G's impact the performance of QCOM on a daily basis:

Gorilla-hood Questioned by the Market/Analyst (WCDMA/EDGE/GPRS/CDMA2000/China)
Greenspan
George Gilder
Geoferry Moore
Gregg Powers(not any longer)
George Bush(new kid on the block)
GGamer (oops that's me, not a chance)

With the latest news (TI, WCDMA in Korea, AT&T, etc), am I correct to assume that the fundamentals of the company are still intact or even stronger now than it was last year.

Or you think there are some uncertainties building that no one really knows what the future might look like.

Also if we see the world economy slowing down next year, how would it impact the purchase of consumer items like phones or PDA's.

In the day and a half since the confirmation, the Naz has slid about 8%.

Yeah, and I am down about 14%. All I can do is grit my teeth and hold. I have made a vow not to touch my portfolio for a least a year. I am holding back about 1/3 cash, and the rest is:

BRCD 15%
EMC 6.5%
INTC 6%
NTAP 18%
QCOM 22%
SDLI 14%
SEBL 13.5%
SUNW 6%

The best thing I could do is not even look at the numbers for a year.

Most everyone was predicting that the market would go up in response to confirmation of Bush's win. In the day and a half since the confirmation, the Naz has slid about 8%.

Perhaps Mr. Market has finally figured out that we got the scarecrow for our President-elect.

..."short-term predictions of what the market will do are in vain..."

On this occasion, investors were lined up on both sides of the prediction. CNBC even reported that the floor traders were ready to sell into the news - as is often the case with 'buy on the rumor; sell on the news' strategies.
I know this is the wrong thread to say so, but I just can't embrace LTB&H for all investments. But this discussion has been beat to death a thousand times here on SI…

Merry Christmas GG'ers,
Eric
