TT: It is the FED's handling of money supply that gave us the strong economy for the past few years. When the economy is reaching the saturation point, because of bad spending, restraints have to be brought in. Greenie is doing exactly what he has to do. He is not going to reduce the rates until he has confidence that Bush won't go splurging the surplus on tax cuts.
If Bush spends it on reducing federal deficit, we will see interest rate cuts.
