the CPI numbers showed that the inflation fear is almost over. Core CPI was 0.3 instead of 0.2 because of oil prices, and oil is below 30 NOW.
The Fed will NOT lower the rates next week, but change the bias to "reduce", imo they'll wait until ALL the earnings warnings are out. They don't care about the market as long as it is IN ORDER. Naz being above 2500 and Dow above 10000 are still "OK" in Fed's opinion.
Bought EMC today, got filled at 65.5!! Unfortunately I had to sell my RMBS (for a small profit) to do that... :o(
Triple witching today, S&P rebalancing is today.. Anything can happen in a DAY, but I concur with you that quality companies will always outperform the market in a long run.
Watch the action starting roughly from 3 o'clock. I feel we may see a substantial bounce up...

My advise to everybody: nobody is forcing you to be in the market! Your mental and physical health as well as well-being of your close ones are far more important than the market. You'll have plenty of chances to get in. Don't gamble with your last or "second to last" money.
