Another factor with NG that hasn't been mentioned here much but Simmons and others have emphasized is the quality of new NG production. Newer gas wells tend to be smaller, less prolific and faster-depleting. The same thing that has been happening for a long time on the oil side may be happening on the NG side, where the low-hanging fruit has been picked and we are edging into secondary prospects. With lesser prospects, it seems to me that we have to run faster and faster just to stay even with the twin dragons of depletion and increased demand.
