I think there will be a slowdown, but it will not amount to much. But we shall see........

"You see it in the tech stocks where MSFT has for the first time in 10 years prewarned earnings and revenue growth slowing.Microsoft's warning, its second ever, adds to a swelling number of technology bellwethers to caution investors and analysts that revenue and profit forecasts are too high given slowing global economies. Microsoft last warned in March 1989. Hand on to your seats......the ride from here will be bumpy"

This is poppycock. Microsoft has been losing money for some time. It has been beating earnings estimates by selling off investments.

Jan-March 2000 - 2.39billion$ +$480million in earnings from Jan-March 1999.

Look at the breakdown of the earnings - $885 million from selling of investments. LOSS of $405million from operating income software sales.

That's just one quarter. The following two quarters were more of the same. The July-September quarter saw MS operating income decline by another 12$ mill according to the Register, while it beat estimates with earnings from investments, 105% increase from $550mill to 1.13$ bill. Sales are decreasing, while expenses are mounting, and prices are being raised. Doesn't sound like it has been healthy for some time. Long before the election.
