How about a slightly different implementation of the idea, perhaps a members suspension record or current status ( jail term and cause ) be visible in the persons profile?

I think that might create a problem similar to the one we're trying to eliminate. Every time this person ticks people off, I can envision ten response posts with a cut and paste of the suspension record to prove what a disreputable scoundrel that person is. Since people with a suspension record are presumably predisposed to ticking people off, this could be a fairly common occurrence.

CatLady,

I have to agree with Mark. Putting that on a persons profile would keep it confined for some privacy but would create a monster where the suspension would be pasted all over thus making the remedy mute for what we are trying to achieve. Under the thread idea it could be stated up front that any cutting and pasting of information would not be allowed, that the information is for factual clarification only. Anyone wanting to know who/what/why could go check but that is all they could do. That will probably not stop all the garbage, but it would cut it down significantly which is what I am suggesting.
