Had the same scam pulled on me when I was in the army. The CO was in on it. You get a leave and he'd call the agent and sit in on the meeting. Take the three free months in case the plane crashes then it's miles and months of paper work to get the automatic deductions stopped. Kick back to the CO.

He he. There's more to the story. I was gettin' short and pulled Charge of Quarters on a Friday. Saturday am my wife came to pick me up. Saturday, there was a party scheduled and the guy who was to take Saturday CQ had paid the CO and first sergeant not to pull the duty. I had been extended, there went my plans of giving the high hard one to my honey. Told the wife to go to the Chaplain and gripe the CO was wrecking our marriage.

She got a case of the nerves and walked in crying. The Second Louie who handled such matters was off so the Bird Colonel Chaplain took the case. Jesus took over. No kidding, up pulls an army car with a driver and FLAGS. Now I'm getting worried. The Colonel starts asking ME questions and I start looking through files.

The CO and first sergeant are called. They go into the CO's office with the Chaplain and the door is slammed. My bowels starting to get runny. The CO steps out and hands me a 3 day pass and tells me to git.

I come back and the CO and first sergeant have been replaced. I get temporary duty orders NOT to report for duty. People are staying way away, possible sniper fire they say. I rotate home. Later I was told I sparked a look see into these guys careers. Captain, 6 years to retirement, E8, 6 months to retirement. BOOTED, AXED, Dishonorable discharges. Yep, cost me $75.
