I agree Dana, and I do some position-swapping for tax losses. In my case, many of my pennies are in an IRA, though. That was a tremendous advantage last winter, when all arrows pointed up, but of course it's a disadvantage now that things are pointed down. In the broader scheme, I do believe that tax-selling in the fall presents some extraordinary opportunities, but you have to be ready to reap the rewards when times are good in order to take advantage.
