EeTimes has an article on ways to increase performance of processors in the future, including L3 caches.

Armed with a license from AMD, Micron will first gauge customer demand before deciding whether to put the chip set out on the market. "We have a fair amount of interest in the [north bridge] part," Klein said. "We're definitely going to take this to first silicon."

Joe,

I hope in the long run, AMD will fare better than the MeeToo NVDA and MeeToo but free MSFT.

I don't understand that statement. It appears that NVDA and MSFT are doing very well to me. Any elaboration would be appreciated? AMD would have at least 5X the valuation if they were considered the NVDA or MSFT of their industry?
