I recommended a 700 MHz Compaq Duron for my uncle and he asked me to order it for him. I ordered it for him from www.bestbuy.com for $649. When I got the email confirmation it was only $499 and shipping was free!

I think there is a serious inventory glut in the PC's!

Jim,

I bought two systems this week. One was a PIII 667MHz, intended primarily as a Linux box and the other was a 1GHz Athlon system.

Linux runs best on all-Intel systems (or so I'm told.)
