Maybe they should change the name of the magazine to Downside. :-)

Malcolm and all:

Anyone been noticing on CNBC how they are slanting the reporting on the energy crisis in Calif. They are saying deregulation does not work but don't seem to focus on the fact that the price of electrical power is set by the state at a ridiculously low level. I guess price controls are "deregulation" and the experiment obviously failed!

Anyway they are doing a special report Monday on the situation. Most probably they will give the most airtime to the politicians who caused the problem.

If there are gas curtailments this winter;then many businesses may be forced to shut down. This recession may be gut wrenching.

The Bush people need to talk up recession Big Time before the news media blames him for it. They are already laying the goundwork for it with euphemisms such as Bushwhacked.
No way could it be a Clinton recession? Shabby treatment of energy industry and a legal system bent on extortion will never be focused upon by a biased press.

No one wants a refinery built[ignorant jurors know they cause cancer].
No one wants a pipeline built[it might leak or explode].
No one wants a drilling platform off their coastline.
On and on and on!

Amazing how the true record of history as reported by the press will not reflect the forces of Tort law and a political party controlled by trial lawyers which got us into this mess. And it will be a Bush recession; every one will soon know because it will be on TV.

Regards,

Anyer
