it has a number of uses, but it isn't building a block of productive capacity -- no doubt about that, but on the other hand --- the kind of "investment" that has occured during this bubble has not been good for productive capacity -- much of it has been illusory -- simply expansion of credit to inflate claims on existing productive capacity -- especially for the last couple of years -- the silly mantra of productivity belies a lack of investment and mathematical smoke and mirrors but I didn't buy gold shares for the "good" of the economy either
