from 1975-1983 and OPEC wars
from 1987 blowoff top also misread as inflationary

if Fed wants to repeat the 1987 disaster, they should sharply raise interest rates now, blaming it on higher crude oil energy and labor costs and benefit costs

that would cause an additional 30-40% stock decline
and a recession for at least two years

the Federal Reserve causes recessions
they are not a natural event in an equilibrium-based economy
they are the result of human error in controlled mgmt
(assuming no cold war huge financial drain)
