Charles: Actually this is how I see it. I have not heard any fundamental reason for the severe decline in Sun Microsystems stock. The learned Ms. Conigliaro and Mr. Neff have made conjectures that for macro economic reasons business conditions will be slowing for Sun. However, I have heard the contrary viewpoint from Steve Milunovich from Merrill Lynch. Business in the tech sector will be very good and the future looks bright.

The rumor about the accounting irregularity was totally bogus.

What is happening is that there are several long holders of SUNW who hysterically sold positions that they might have been under water with for tax reasons. Also remember that there have been tremendous gains last year, so this bullshit about the irregularities and slowdown was a good excuse. Furthermore, the PC business has very little to do with SUNW and the report about MSFT's sales forcast being bad is not bad for SUNW.

I always maintained that what's good for ORACLE is good for SUN servers. The more software Oracle sells the more traffic with B to B therefore more powerful servers are needed.

Finally the US3 issue will be quickly resolved. I am more inclined to believe that there is an order imbalace with demand tremendously outpacing supply. I beleieve that supply is tight due to lowere production yields per wafer due to the added complexity of the US3 chips. I do not believe that there are any technical glitches that are insurmountable.

I have been through the lean years with SUNW stock. I have held it through 1997 where it went nowhere for a long time. I questioned then, Why am I holding it? I have never been let down by the company and I really do not believe that we will be let down now.

According to the wash sale rule, the tax loss is disallowed if one sells SUNW and buys it back within 30 days.

So with the larger than average volumes of stock that was dumped in the last two weeks, I believe we are looking at mid-January to early February before we see some significant movement in the stock. So be patient.

We will also see the the results of the quarter and guidance from Management of SUNW which will tend to boost the stock price.

I have heard of analysts lowering price projection to $50 per share from $70. I believe that the price of SUNW will exceed $75 by this time next Christmas (2001).

Also, I believe that Alan Greenspan will lower interest rates significantly to put on an extra 5 to 10 points on the stock due to a supply and demand issue for the stock when investors ruch back into tech growth companies.
