in my short investment career, I haven't been through a "recession" but as I understand it, it's the trough or the beginning of the downward slope off the peak performance of the economy ..

so what happens in a recession? seems like interest rates would go up as unemployment rises, money supply drops and credit tightens ... but I guess investors hope for a DROP in interest rates to keep money supply high and credit loose? Is this accurate?
