Why didn't you give the top as well as the jeans?

That is really nice. I'm sure she will love the jeans. Old Navy is super popular. Girls that age live in jeans. You really can't get them into anything else, without bribes or threats.

That is so wonderful that your club did that instead of the same old gift exchange. Most of us have way too much stuff-and most of what we get is unnecessary. well, look at the example of CW wanting a waffle iron. People seldom really NEED things anymore.
I'm sure the top and jeans are perfect and she will love them.
A new career for you! Teen buyer for Gadzooks. Or designer! We'll see you on the runways--Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Constant Reader.
Doesn't it make you want to buy a whole new wardrobe for that child? I love the program in Dallas that buys new and name athletic shoes for foster care kids for the new school year. I;m sure some people question the expense, but kids need to feel appropriate and sometimes having the right clothes and shoes gives them a little confidence.

When the boys were at St John's, one of my favorite "homework assignments" was buying gifts for needy children to put under the church tree. We always got a big box and filled it with one large requested gift, and then little things- mittens, fancy pencils, a handheld game, a stocking filled with candy. I wish I could say that the boys gave generously and looked forward to this, but they didn't- they hated doing it. Probably because I always wanted to buy for a girl. I may have ruined them forever for charitable giving.

You have made me want to go to the mall and buy for all the remaining children on the angel tree.
We are waiting for the beeper to go off-- the clinic is so busy that they had a 3 1/2 hour wait and they gave us a beeper!!!
