These articles don't talk about the technical merits of Sun storage but just its marketing image. In fact Sun doesn't make a great deal of money with their storage which I was told the "give away" with servers.

I think theya re making acquisitions to fill in their software expertise in this area. They must broaden their footprint out of just servers and workstations to icluse service, software and storage.
