Most of wall street market participants are away for the holidays leading up to the week before Christmas till after new years.I wouldn't expect to see a "big time selloff" during the holiday season or a "big time rally" either"IMHO.

Hays bases his conclusion on more than just a comparison of the Nikkei and NAZ. AAII and Investors Intelligence sentiment show amazing bullishness considering the NAZ carnage. To that I would add that the VIX still is way below the levels reached at the trough last spring.
