Good point. That is the beauty of writing to a HAL. They can ship it with the best available Nvidia/3dfx/Nvidia3dfxcombo chip at the time of launch. I've already pre-ordered at GameStop.com.

Like I said nVidia needs the gigapixel tech to make the promised stats. MS liked what gigapixel could deliver, but was worried about GP being able to achieve sufficient volume and switch to nVidia at the last minute. nVidia promised more than they could deliver, and just bought their way out of it.
