What they cower from is disagreement from their positions of moral authority, rooted in rote doctrines. They shrink like parrots from a garden hose, convinced it's a snake. 2) Fear? Oh puh-leez. Everyone has 'em and no group has a universal one. 3) Loathing? It is human nature for everyone to feel superior to somebody. 4) Bitterness? Most serious leftists I know are absolutely thrilled at the election process and outcome. The process demonstrated the vacuous nature of the campaigners, the utter disregard most Americans felt for Gore and Bush (if a mandate exists, the nonvoters are asking for no legislation whatsoever), and the buffoonery of the judicial system at every level as hypocrisy was piled upon hypocrisy. Justice is not blind; it's dumb. 5) The marginalized Left and Right, choosing a consistent slate of issues, demonstrate either immaturity or a rigidness in habit that never bothers with the messy details of actual thinking. Most people vary from one side to the other, depending on the issue. Centrist does not define them either. Labels are promulgated by the intellectually lazy and propagandists. Bottom line? Calling Clinton/Gore a 'cancer' simply means you didn't like them and prefer name-calling over reasoned debate. "Corrupt reality" is reality as you define it for you. If you don't like corruption, skip politics entirely, because the only two Presidents I can think of in the past half-century that were reasonably uncorrupted were Eisenhower & Carter.... and most historians equate that with "largely ineffective".
