Les:

Amazing how long it takes them to spot what we have been discussing here for many moons. (g)

I also get a real kick out of the idea that corporate spending on PCs "may slow" as we go forward. This is getting it totally backwards. Corporate buying of PCs fell off the graph, starting in September of 1999, i.e., as Y2k approached (and we had our forecast of this in print well before it occurred). As corporations have historically purchased the lion's share of PCs, it was this event that sealed the sector's doom. Growth in consumer buying has been slowly but surely declining for quite a while now, but last spring we got a sharp but short buying spike that got the bulls all lathered up. It didn't last long and petered out in concert with the NAZ cratering. Nice to also see them making note of the massive inventory build-up which I have been commenting on for many weeks. (g)

Note the "rationale" for the "expected" corporate uptick next year. Dreaming in technicolor.

Best, Earlie
