Thanks, Rick,

I figure that by playing the chemists off against the biologists I can get fast responses. I appreciate everyone's patience and tolerance in training the portfolio manager. Networked at a party last night. Should be inside a lab before the end of the year, notebook in hand.

I guess I need to look more closely at SIAL. A category killer with flat earnings? Maybe the mergers put the earnings off track. From what folks have been saying here, this should be doing better than its recent earnings history lets on, and indeed the stock has been strong. With weakness resulting from being dropped from one of the S&P indexes a few days ago, Trickle may be looking at its best buying op for SIAL. After I tweak the original post, I'll look for more clues of earnings acceleration there, and will post whatever I find.

Cheers, Tuck
