Good suggestions. I don't know much about Presidential Commissions. What do those do?

Some kind of national initiative to make the mechanics of voting and counting votes more fool proof sounds good to me.

I think the people who feed on rancor are the ones who won't lay down the swords. I agree with Cyberken that deep disagreement about political means and ends is essential to the health of America, but not to the point of civil war, nor even to the point of duels, as the one between Hamilton and Burr. And I think that going after each other's families is just beneath dignity.

I am part Cajun myself, so I would like to see John Breaux on the Cabinet. It would be quite a feather in the cap for the Cajuns.

Another excellent post, great ideas. Does W have the cajones to do anything along these lines? I say no way, but would love to be proved wrong.
