For sure.

I remain very confident that based on their solid patent platform, and many recent rulings, Qualcomm will be paid for its essential IP in any implementation of CDMA in wireless mobile telephony.

The patent pool is sensible for others that have, or claim to have, other IP for W-CDMA.

It could help to avoid the prolonged settlement of IP claims that took place when GSM first launched.
