I know the saying as False Expectations Appear Real(FEAR), but shucks what do I know, being from the Great White North and all.
We survived a general fire alarm in our condo complex. Someone below me now has a totally flooded unit from the in unit sprinkler system going off. My daughter, putting a positive spin on it, "We got to meet more of the neighbours, Mom". We know the general alarm works.
But, at first I thought it was a dream and then woke up abruptly and stunned when we realized it was not. This was a fire alarm for the building.
It was 12 degrees out when we evacuated the building and an hour later after all had settled down, it was 32 F. That is Calgary for you.
Very grateful that we and our home are safe and sound.
