The problem with the Gnostic's is they didn't know S**T. They were merely the first to try and co-opt Christianity and remake it into their own image. Like many cults since, they tried to keep Christian terms while gutting them of their true meaning. Once this false veneer is removed there is very little resemblance to Christianity left. The Gospel of Thomas is an obvious late date forgery, and those who afford it such validity do so for theological reasons unconnected to truthfulness. Have a good day Greg
