ALL RIGHT!!! RIGHT ON!!!
I agree. :-)

I like the part about Prozac and Celebrex. Hadn't thought of that argument before. For that matter, even prescriptions work better than our current system. There is some crime involving codeine, etc., but not a lot. Part of that is because there is better stuff to go after if you're going to commit crimes for drugs, but part is because it is actually possible to legally get the stuff.

I don't use drugs (except for caffeine and occasional alcohol) and wouldn't if they were legal; I do believe the medical establishment has got their dangers right.

But the stupidity of current drug law and its enforcement is appalling. The war has been lost, guys. We pulled out of of a real war- -Vietnam- -after much less than this.

In a PM, someone said they did not agree with my viewpoint because of the appalling results of drug usage and the costs of treating users. I asked them to consider the costs of imprisoning tens of thousands, and of treating the victims of that other drug war- -the one involving drug dealers and drive-by shootings and gang wars.

And instead of drug usage being a drain because of the cost of the "war on drugs"- -police and prisons and gunshot victims- -it can become a source of revenue for the government through taxation. And it will.

You must be a libertarian, right?
