HGSI from our Thursday watch list has moved up well and could enjoy more upside as the genomics and cancer treatment stocks have better outlooks and profitability might just come before planned. Give HGSI a chance to pull back and it could move up again on any rally.

TLAB at least 2 analysts are bearish to neutral on the company. One analyt cites the risks surrounding the long term growth of the company's core Titan 500 product line, which has competitive risks. Yet a company that focuses on quarterly eearnings surprise and the sustainability of the quarterly earnings surprise and companies experiencing the greatest upward revision of earnings to the upside which, by the way, has always been 2 of Market Gems main criteia in the last 5 years have had the most upside.

They are short TLAB also.. ..don't have anything to get them into the optical switching areaa. They have some competitive questions. Most of their equipment is old legacy systems versus new optical stuff. As long as growth fund managers follow the accelerated earnings growth and earnings surprises as well as earnings revised to the upside they will have the same fundamental strategies as we do. It is ironic that this particular fund has had an increase of 22% in its fund and their hedge funds are up 55% and 76% while all other competition is down in double digits.

We trade like chameleons. We have companies that have corrected substantially and a number of them are back to tolerable P/E's. You see we are not 'short to the death' traders. We do understand that there are legitimate companies out there that will move when the panic subsides and that is why we play the market on the long side and the short side. I feel that MERQ is a fine company and have been invested in it for the better part of the last five years and the gains have been substantial, but I've cut all my holdings in technology for months now. There are other companies that are worthwhile as well.-
