Opera automatically uses a memory cache so I'll have to think about that avoid having the two of them fight.

I went to the site you posted and downloaded their RAMdisk.

The thing works as claimed, and I was able to create a RAM disk of substantial size, with the drive letter of my choosing. I went further and studied other suggestions on the link you posted and edited my registry to use a RAM disk for my cookies, history, cache, and temporary files.

The improvement in internet speed was noticeable. Furthermore, while browsing, my hard drive stops from lack of use, making my surfing silent as well as quick.

The link gave the Registry edits for IE 5.0, so I needed to export my own keys, edit them, and re-import them, since IE 4.0 is on my system. I'm sure others will need to do the same, now that several IE versions are commonly used.

Anyway, thanks for providing the link.
