Andreas--- Jack has twice re-iterated the guidence for the qtr and year. I'll not worry about GE and plan on buying more at 48 or lower,,, dell, uis, gm and others have been downgraded already... few techs will make the lofty growth expected by WS... but some will only be bargains while others will never recover. You may be interested in this article-- fortune.com but read it all as IMO these 4 are saying what many others are feeling... F loks great here too but the autos could be dead money for a very long time...

There was a rumor a short while ago that GE would warn. Welch & Co. came out immediately with a press release saying that the rumor was "ridiculous" or "outrageous" or something along that line meaning that there would be no warning. El

Andreas, it's unlikely that GE would preannounce for the next year or so.
They engage in some creative accounting there that allows them to dampen excessive earnings in order to realize them in quarters that may come up short.
Welch is a master of growth. But more importantly, he's got guys who are masters at number crunching working for him.
