Did ML's Kraemer catch a cold ? When IBM sneezes you catch pneumonia

BUT IBM hasn't sneezed , so Mr Kraemer should use a milder cold remedy for his CSCO sniffles to avoid hallucinations.

Worth parsing his "oblique downgrade":

-----
" Big Blue shares were also singing the blues, off $5.06, or 5.6 percent, to
$85.06 in recent trading after analyst Thomas Kraemer slashed his
intermediate-term recommendation on IBM (IBM: news, msgs) to
"neutral" from "buy."

"We believe that changes in the macro environment, slowing IT spending
and very poor visibility may complicate hitting revenue and growth targets
in Q2 and the back half of 2001," Kraemer wrote in a research note.
"Our Reality Check survey indicates that spending intentions for
mainframe decelerate over the next two years."

Could Mr Kraemer's major cold symptom be blurred vision ?

He is speculating on 2001 Q2 and beyond - I thought we had to close CY 2000 first .
