Hey all -- the problem with my olds was a faulty torque convertor (I hope). Went to a local gas station but serviced by a REAL knowledgeable service man. He looked at fuel filter/pump/EMC valve/low speed idle unit -- then remembered several others who had this problem in past years. All he did was disconnect the unit.

He had the car three days, spent a number of hours "looking", drove around trying to get it to act up, and charged me ZIP !!!!!!!!!!!
