Maybe we'll get lucky and get someone as smart as you appointed to the SC. Or why don't you just go up there and tell them how stupid they are. I bet they'd recognize your intellectual and moral superiority and defer to your unbiased judgement. Let me know how it goes. In the meantime I'll go back to my fantasy football and beer diversions.

Did you have a problem with the abominable FL SC opinion? I find it a bit laughable to hear demolibs whining about "judicial activism". The Court's reasoning seemed sound to me under Article 2 of the US Constitution, under Equal Protection Grounds and under the 1887 federal statute. In fact the justices voted 7-2 to find that the FL SC ordered recount was unconstitutional. The real argument seemed to be over the remedy for which reasonable persons might disagree. This issue will be a dead letter if Bush does a credible job in the Oval Office. Given how low his detractors have set expectations, I think Bush's sure to succeed and perhaps, if the economy doesn't go into a complete tailspin, to shine. The strength of the team he has thus far named is encouraging. JLA
