Thanks for the link. I had actually read it a couple of months ago when someone on this thread linked it. I don't agree with all of the points in the article, however. For example:

Next, as shown in Figure 1, a maximum of 1 GBps is
allocated to the CPU, with CPU requests getting higher
priority than the graphics pipeline. The CPU will rarely use
its full allocation (which is considerably more than most
current PCs support), but let's allocate the full 1GBps
anyway.


1GB/s in bandwidth corresponds to an FSB of 133MHz. That may be where the PIII is today, but will the X-Box CPUs be limited to this? Maybe, but saying that "the CPU will rarely use its full allocation" is complete BS. Take a look at how much DDR increases performance for the Athlon in 3D gaming benchmarks.

And the "considerably more than most current PCs support" is a bit of a stretch as well. At the very least, it completely ignores where the CPU / chipset industry was heading at the time of the article (August this year).
