"Bland, I don't know any of them in person, but I've run into dozens here on SI..." LOL! Bland knows what you mean. Lately, with the intensity associated with the election, the whole place has seemed like a madhouse at times. Bland reads some posts and thinks: "Surely this person is just pulling everyone's leg." But who knows? Seriously, bland has no empathy with survivalists or paranoiacs or anyone whose vision of the world hinges on destruction, calamity, or collapse. So he can't offer any special insight into their thought processes, or absence thereof, as the case may be. Perhaps some people just feel freer to unleash their personal demons on the internet because of the relative anonymity and absence of consequence. There are many more interesting and accomplished people per square inch here on SI than on places like Yahoo, however.
