No, I don't want to debate abortion, especially when the opposition talks about, "killing the child." Choice in regard to abortion is pretty much a given in that set of ideals that is referred to as Left Wing. Our agenda if you will. I don't like that word, but I might as well throw it out here. Any left winger or right winger or no winger or moderate is free to disagree or agree with any part or portion of a so called left wing agenda, but if there is any place where I shouldn't have to debate that right to choice on SI, I'm guessing it's on a declared Left Wing Thread. I "condemn" as you say prolifers because they are tyrants, if they wish to exert their will on my body. I understand that they think they are defending perceived humans, but then aren't we really debating freedom of religion? My "god concept" whispers: Man can neither create nor destroy life, but merely channels it. To prevent your pregnancy would interfere with your free will, and then you couldn't choose "Me." Will you deny me my relationship with my god? Anti-choice is punitive in that it is punishing to she who does not want to carry a pregnancy. Also, it is often unfair to the child who may later be born. Yes I find that Christian belief system is misogynistic. Even though they try to make "weaker vessel" sound like some sort of term of endearment, and the honor of being taken from Adam's side, there still seems to be a sort of grudge against all women for the sins of Eve. So I am not talking about a few bad examples drawn from a pool of millions, I am talking about a premise in the beliefs of millions that is perhaps not even recognized, less acknowledged and almost never scrutinized by those who hold those values. joelle
