the political majority has to be solid. May I point out something? Slick was impeached but not convicted. That's because a fair chunk of the Senate felt that his conduct, while execrable, did not rise to the level of an impeachable offense. That could very well happen again. I think a large majority of the country is not willing to boot a President for minor offenses. We are all human and every body has to be given some slack. So you might get him impeached- -maybe- -but he could still remain your President, depressing as that prospect might be for you.
