Hi Bill,
The pop may be over. The bond market seems to be over optimistic about rate cuts. Loans and leases have been increasing at a 15% rate for the last month, retail trade is up 5.2% over last year with autos, 7% without. Hardly the dramatic slowdown that is being publicized.
The dollar held well over the weekend and today, which was the warning signal last Friday. I am still going to be watching the dollar as a good indicator that we are starting the next leg down. It may not lead the market but it will at least be coincident with a major move.
