How about Andy Neff at Bear Stearns, who said in downgrading Sun Microsystems (SUNW) and EMC (EMC) that "signs of further broader and expanding economic weakness will have a negative impact on corporate IT spending. Gravity is bound to take over. When we downgraded the PC stocks in September, we were concerned about signs of weak consumer demand, which has continued to deteriorate." So why couldn't we have gotten a little more guidance back in September, October or even November on these companies? upside.com
