Karen...

i was merely pointing out some of the reasons why some libertarian find "home" with the republicans. but it does not make sense to me given the influence of the religious right.

you and i are in agreement. (i need to say so for the record since, other than the top line, i did NOT write what you pasted on the response to me.)

Until the GOP libertarians recognize that personal freedom means all freedoms for all citizens, not just certain freedoms for certain citizens and that the religious right is a serious threat to personal freedom, not just some crazy uncle in the closet, they are either hypocrites or missing the point.

agreed. and for the record: i am no democrat, no republican, nor "libertarian". i follow my own lead. i believe in negotiation in good faith, i am willing to give up some of my "ideal world" points in exchange for other less... "taxing". but i am most certainly against the religious right agenda for the simple reason that they demand your personal freedom as part of the price to "belong" to them.

thanks, but no thanks. my personal freedom has no price and it is not negotiable. even if i were to sell it, i will choose whom i will negotiate, what price and under what terms. in need no stinking priest to tell me otherwise.
