Qualcomm has announced ZIF. Phillips announced N-ZIF. The N stands for "near zero". Qualcomm has been working on ZIF for at least a year now. Everybody has been searching for the answer to ZIF. The encouraging thing is that Qualcomm has never been known to announce something that is not doable and within the time frames they specify. From the announcement it sounds like the ZIF capabilities will be available for all technologies including GSM. I read this as major major news at this point.
