We are worried about the inmates from jails and mental hospitals that Castro sent over here, but I think we have a greater threat from the upper class Cubans who were very powerful in the repressive Batista regime. Some of them act as if they are still in Cuba and that we have a Batista running this country. These people think they know what is right for everyone else and don't mind trampling on their rights, as they did in trying to deny the father custody of his son, because THEY thought it was in his best interest to stay here with a group of strangers.

Florida is a banana republic. I believe it. I'm not sure what I'd call Washington.

I saw Clinton and Bush on tv last night. The press asked Bush about the economy. Bush's eyes went blank and told the Press to ask Mr. Clinton! (g)

Mr. Clinton laughed and said the thought the economy would grow by a few percentage points next year.
