I don't have many links to hand, but the technique has been around for many years. I should apologize to the group. I did think off the top of my head that this would be a big deal. I didn't stop and check anything. I called up a friend who has been rather on top of radios lately. He said: "It doesn't sound to me to be any earth shattering news that somebody eliminated the IF circuit in a radio of any type today." He went further to say: "They could do just about anything they want today. Especially when they're transmitting digitally." I'd like ot further say he agreed with John in saying most of the barrier would be cost. BirdDog
