JDS Uniphase (JDSU) 58 -11/64: -- Update -- CSFB reiterates BUY rating after company announced that it expects its merger with SDLI to close in January 2001 citing the regulatory approval process; the company had anticipated closure of the merger in late December, however firm says that given the complex process associated with the Department of Justice the delay is not a surprise; says that JDSU's citing of a near-term date demonstrates good visibility in completing the deal.

You're both probably right. In economic terms, it takes some time to work thru the system. In the financial markets, given the psychology of traders, it is instantaneous.knc
