WSJournal vs WashPost on rate cut vs not yet

big indefensible absurdity: FedFunds rate is 6.5%
but 3-Month Treasury Bill yield is now 5.8%
for five years, the Fed has linked these two rates
WE NOW HAVE A 70 BASISPT DIFFERENTIAL, ABSURD SLAMMING BRAKES !!!

Washington Post reports Fed is very unlikely to cut rates on tuesday
they have been an accurate mouthpiece for the Fed for years

WallStreet Journal counters that evidence abounds of economic slowing
WSJ is the pre-dominant financial reporting publication in our land

word has it that Fed Governors are floating trial balloons
the countering opinions are intended to underscore the division within the Federal Reserve, and its governors

my guess is the stupid ones still see a lurking inflation threat
and the smart ones see acceleration in the slowdown
